My name is Janice Hannah, and I am the first grade teacher at St. Paul of the Cross School in La Mirada. I have been teaching at SPC for 9 years now. Prior to SPC, I taught at a Catholic School in Anaheim for 8 years. I was in the Insurance industry for 15 years before I decided that I need to follow my heart and become a teacher. I went back to school and obtained my Master of Arts degree in Education and my California Teaching Credential.
Becoming a teacher was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I knew from the first moment that I entered the classroom that I was meant to be a teacher! I look forward to many more years of teaching at St. Paul of the Cross School.
I am originally from Enfield, Connecticut, but have been living here in Southern California since 1986. I am married to my husband of 25 years, Clark. We have two sons named Matthew and Andrew. Matthew is 22 years old and goes to school at Cal State Long Beach and works at the Holiday Inn part-time. Andrew is 19 years old and is attending Cypress College while working part-time at Knotts Berry Farm.
Both of my sons attended Catholic elementary school from K-8. I am a strong believer in a Catholic education and am grateful to be able to teach in a Catholic school. I love being able to bring God into all of our subject matter in first grade. Also, the family atmosphere here at St. Paul of the Cross School cannot be matched anywhere else. We truly are "A Family of Faith."
